Where is it Safe to Show Up?

Facebook is not the place to advertise our Events anymore. I’m just saying that right now. Safety is of utmost importance! So LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC orgs need to focus on sharing their events where violence is not destroying our momentum.

Safe ways to share inclusive, supportive events:

✨ Listservs. Subscribe to and share BIPOC & LGBTQ organizations’ newsletters, such as Jazmyn’s TPCBW, and MidWest Mujeres

✨ Inclusive apps. Join memberships with safe community-building apps, like Mighty for OPEN and Hey Famm

✨ Virtual networking. Register and attend online events hosted by orgs like Lesbians Who Tech, StartOut, PFLAG or IGLA.

Yes, there is a lot going on in Madison, WI, and that is not where my networking ends. There are so many heroic humans across the nation and the globe , showing up as their authentic selves, helping heal as trauma-informed professionals, and glowing with joy as resistance.

Journal Prompt

What would you do to create a space for every version of yourself who had been hurt but not healed? We all have memories, some haunt us with unresolved trauma.

Journal prompt: think of a time your younger self was scared, in pain, or confused. Give yourself a lot of love while doing this. Give them what they need to feel safe, to know they are OK now, and loved. After you sincerely give that version of yourself the gift of safety, comfort, and support, take a moment to learn from them.
