Inclusive Events, Support Systems, and Books

Table of Contents
Where is it Safe to Show Up?
Facebook is not the place to advertise our Events anymore. I’m just saying that right now. Safety is of utmost importance! So LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC orgs need to focus on sharing their events where violence is not destroying our momentum.
✨ Listservs. Subscribe to and share BIPOC & LGBTQ organizations’ newsletters, such as Jazmyn’s TPCBW, and MidWest Mujeres
✨ Inclusive apps. Join memberships with safe community-building apps, like Mighty for OPEN and Hey Famm
✨ Virtual networking. Register and attend online events hosted by orgs like Lesbians Who Tech, StartOut, PFLAG or IGLA.
✨ and through sponsored ads on podcasts where only the dedicated listen 30 minutes in.✨ ✨ Mil Gracias to MidWest Mujeres for their sponsorship! ✨✨
Where Now? Madison’s Current Events for Your Calendar (not in logical order)
✨ Midwest Mujeres hosts Yo Quiero Dinero! Our Voices Have Value! November 8th at the Madison Youth Arts Center, Madison.
✨ Overture Center hosts Out at the Overture! November 12th
✨ Giant Jones hosts Queer Placemaking- A Panel Discussion October 23rd!
What makes a space feel queer—not just in name, but in spirit? How do places become sites of visibility, safety, and joy for LGBTQ+ communities?

Join Destination Madison and Giant Jones with special guest, journalist and author Erik Piepenburg.
And one more place to go: wherever you find people who support you for who you are, inside and out. As Ana Devine reminds us in the latest Be the Glitter episode, no one goes through life alone. We all have influencers throughout our journey.
✨ Globe-wide Glitter - Spotlight From Recent Past✨
Yes, there is a lot going on in Madison, WI, and that is not where my networking ends. There are so many heroic humans across the nation and the globe , showing up as their authentic selves, helping heal as trauma-informed professionals, and glowing with joy as resistance.
My latest guest, Ana Devine, is one of those amazing humans. Our conversation was so rich, and could not stop, I had to publish it in two parts. No regrets!

What would you do to create a space for every version of yourself who had been hurt but not healed? We all have memories, some haunt us with unresolved trauma.
Journal prompt: think of a time your younger self was scared, in pain, or confused. Give yourself a lot of love while doing this. Give them what they need to feel safe, to know they are OK now, and loved. After you sincerely give that version of yourself the gift of safety, comfort, and support, take a moment to learn from them.
✨ What gift does that version of yourself have for you now?
Thank you for reading!
